The answer
My advice is to avoid the things that hinder spiritual growth, and increase the things that will nourish it. We are constantly concerned with our physical growth and health, so we provide our bodies with nutrition, adopt a healthy life style, and treat any disease that hinders this growth. The same applies to our spiritual life. Sin hinders spiritual growth, so we have to avoid, and fight it. Also, we need to nourish ourselves by practicing confession, repentance, participating in Holy Communion, studying the Word of God, reading about the life of the saints, and by prayers. In addition, the need for a support system and a group of Godly people that will help in growing spiritually is paramount.Answered by His Eminence Metropolitan Youssef (opens in a new tab)
