Women/Women in the Church

Faith Q&A › Metropolitan Youssef › The Church › Women/Women in the Church

The question

Why are women portrayed as inferior in both the Bible and the church?

The answer

Women are not portrayed inferior. This assumption is a deception from the devil. The role of women in the Bible is well documented. The following are some examples:
  1. You can read about St. Paul and Phoebe in this link http://www.suscopts.org/literature/literature.php?misc=search&subaction=showfull&id=1109431684&archive=&cnshow=news&start_from=&

  2. Many women followed our Lord Jesus Christ, and served him. You can read about Joanna in this link http://www.suscopts.org/literature/literature.php?misc=search&subaction=showfull&id=1108356315&archive=&cnshow=news&start_from=&

  3. Our Lord Jesus Christ also honored all women represented by St. Mary.
We read in Galatians 3:28 "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus."
