Single men and women ought to be just as receptive to God's will as married men and women. For some, it may be easier as singles to become more distracted by infatuations that do not lead to marriage. They may also become too absorbed in their careers and become inflexible and set in their ways. These characteristics may actually push a potential spouse away. There is also what some people believe to be a double standard regarding age and gender pertaining to marriage. Unless, one has decided along with his/her confession father to remain celibate, single men and women ought to keep an open mind regarding marriage and the opportunity to meet someone in a godly atmosphere with the counsel of one's spiritual father.
