The question

What are some books in English that are required to read before someone can be baptized in the Coptic Orthodox Church? I am from the Baptist Church. Is it OK to be baptized in any Orthodox Church or must it be Coptic only?

The answer

In order to partake of the Holy Sacraments in the Coptic Orthodox Church, you must be baptized in one of the Oriental Orthodox Churches.

The following are books that can prepare you for baptism and life and practice in the Orthodox faith:
1. "Comparative Theology" by H.H. Pope Shenouda III
2. "The Spirituality of the Rites of the Holy Liturgy in the Coptic Orthodox Church" by H.G. Bishop Mettaous
3. "Introduction to the Coptic Orthodox Church" by Rev. Fr. Tadros Malaty

All these books can be found online.
