The answer
The Lord said, "if your eye offends, it pluck it out" (cf. Matthew 5:29; 18:9). Applying the same principle, remove the internet from your house (or ask you family to not give you the password if you cannot remove it from the house) and/or your phone. When you have to use it, go to a public library. This can be a temporary solution till your will becomes stronger than your senses. Your will must be stronger than your senses. Set a time, maybe one hour maximum, in which you will check whatever you need, not just what you want, on social media. Treat social media as you would a store or business. Most people do not go to a clothing store unless they need clothing or to the supermarket unless they need food or to an appliance store unless they need appliances, etc. Thus, use social media for needs rather than just for strolling around aimlessly like at a mall. Distractions and wasting time are some of the devil's clever tools in his supply chest of wickedness.Answered by His Eminence Metropolitan Youssef (opens in a new tab)
