Holy Book of Psalms

Faith Q&A › Metropolitan Youssef › Holy Scripture › Holy Book of Psalms

The question

"Is not (my tears) in your book?" (Psalm 56:8).  Is the psalmist referring to the Holy Bible? Where are these tears listed in the Holy Bible?

The answer

The Psalmist is not referring to a written book or to the Holy Bible, but to the book of memory. We read in The Holy Book of Malachi "Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another, And the LORD listened and heard them; So a book of remembrance was written before Him For those who fear the LORD And who meditate on His name" (Mal 3:16).
