Which comes first: pride or self righteousness? Are the two related at all?

The answer

I believe self pride starts first and leads to self righteousness. It is known that the sin of pride is one of the mother-sins that gives birth to many other sins. If the person is really humble, he will never feel self righteous even if he moves a mountain like St. Simeon the Tanner.
