Why do the Orthodox and Catholic churches have confession, but the Protestant church doesn’t?

The answer

In the Bible, the Lord said to St. Peter, “And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 16:19). The Lord chose the priests to be the servant of this sacrament and to receive the confessions of people. This verse is repeated three times in the New Testament and because the Orthodox churches and Catholic churches are apostolic churches, they have and practice this sacrament. In the 15th century when the Protestant Church was formed, they took the decision to abolish the Seven Sacraments, including confession. However, we are praying that within the next few years, the Protestant church will come back to the original church and tradition.
