Contraception/Contraceptives

Faith Q&A › Metropolitan Youssef › Marriage and Family › Contraception/Contraceptives

The question

What is the Christian perspective on modern/medical pregnancy control methods/contraceptives?

The answer

The birth control method that is acceptable by the Church is if it does not interfere with a fertilized egg. Thus, the intervention occurs before the egg is fertilized, not just producing a hostile environment for the plantation of the egg.
